SocialEngine PHP 4.9 Looks Promising

A lot has happened in SocialEngine PHP in last one year and now they've come up with something very exciting for the whole community. Get ready for a refurbished UI and a lot of other new features. Yes! SocialEngine team is all set to release SocialEngine PHP 4.9 very soon. They've shared a sneak peek of this release which seem to be going very well with the whole community.

 

A new responsive theme 'Insignia', multiple UI improvements, new toggle between vertical and horizontal menus, multiple photo uploading in activity feed, reCAPTCHA updated to Google’s No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA, SEO friendly content URLs with slugs, Zend Framework being updated to latest ZF1 and the most important thing - full compatibility with PHP 7; the new version will have all these significant improvements including many other small features and bug fixes.

 

 

UI Changes:-

New header & footer layout

 New Banner feature

Enhanced UI for all of the browse pages

Search button in search widgets for better UX

Categories widget for all of the core modules

 

Toggle Between Vertical and Horizontal Menus: New Vertical Menu option along with a toggle to switch between Vertical and Horizontal main menu: Setting for Admin to allow toggling between either vertical or horizontal main menu.

 

Upload Multiple Photos in Activity Feed: Members will be able to upload multiple photos from their Activity Feed area.

 

Zend Framework Updated to latest ZF1: Updated Zend Framework to ZF1 allowing support for PHP 7 and PHP 7.1.

 

SEO friendly content URLs with Slugs: Added SEO friendly content URLs with slugs for Albums, Groups, and Events.

 

Note: We will be releasing our plugin upgrades for compatibility with SE PHP 4.9.0 version as soon as the new version comes out.
