SocialEngineAddOns Plugins Upgraded to their Version 4.2.3

Hello Everyone!

We have renamed our "SocialEnigneAddOns Core Plugin" directory from "/application/modules/Socialengineaddon” to "/application/modules/Seaocore". We recommend you to install the latest version 4.2.3 of the SocialEngineAddOns Core Plugin (file: socialengineaddons_core_v4_23.zip) that is available to you for download in the "Files" section of your SocialEngineAddOns Client Area.

After installing this latest Core plugin, you should upgrade all the SocialEngineAddOns plugins on your site to their latest versions available in your SocialEngineAddOns Client Area, as we have changed the name of our "SocialEngineAddOns Core Plugin" in all our plugins. In case you do not want to upgrade some of our plugins, then the old version of SocialEngineAddOns Core Plugin on your site will still work for them as before (installing the latest SocialEngineAddOns Core Plugin does not upgrade the old version, but installs a new plugin.).

Remember to take a backup of your website's files and database before upgrading!

Please find below some FAQs for queries that you might have while installing the new SocialEngineAddOns Core Plugin and upgrading other plugins.

Q. 1: How can I upgrade SocialEngineAddOns plugins on my website?

Ans: You can upgrade a SocialEngineAddOns plugin by downloading its latest version from your SocialEngineAddOns Client Area, and then using it in the "Manage" > "Packages & Plugins" section of the Admin Panel after clicking on "Install New Packages".

Additionally now, for easy upgrading of our plugins on your site, we have implemented a new method in the latest SocialEngineAddOns Core Plugin. Follow the steps below to easily upgrade the desired SocialEngineAddOns plugins:

1) Install the latest version 4.2.3 of SocialEngineAddOns Core plugin on your website.
2) Go to the "Plugins" > "SocialEngineAddOns" section in the Admin Panel.
3) Now, from the "Plugin Upgrades" section of the SocialEngineAddOns Core plugin, you can see which all plugins need to be upgraded on your site. To upgrade the desired plugins, you can simply click on their respective "Upgrade" buttons and proceed.

Q. 2: I have done some customization in your plugins and thus, I do not want to upgrade all of them. How can I upgrade only some of your plugins?

Ans: If you do not want to upgrade all the plugins from SocialEngineAddOns installed on your site, then you should have both the old and new (4.2.3) versions of the "SocialEngineAddOns Core Plugin" installed and running on your website. By using both the versions of SocialEngineAddOns Core Plugin simultaneously, you might experience some issues related to the Advanced Photo Viewer Lightbox on your website. To correct this, download the "Socialengineaddons_patch.zip" file attached to this article at the bottom and extract it's contents. Next, using an FTP client, upload the application folder into your SocialEngine root directory, so that the "application/modules/Socialengineaddon/" files are overwritten.

Q. 3: The old version of "SocialEngineAddOns Core Plugin" on my website is not useful for me anymore as I have installed the latest "SocialEngineAddOns Core Plugin" and upgraded all the SocialEngineAddOns plugins on my website. How can I remove the old version of "SocialEngineAddOns Core Plugin" completely from my website?

Ans: You can remove the old version of "SocialEngineAddOns Core Plugin" from your website by visiting the "Plugins" > "SocialEngineAddOns" > "Plugin Upgrades" section of the Admin Panel. Then, you will see a link to remove the old version of the "SocialEngineAddOns Core Plugin". Note: This link will be available only after you have upgraded all the SocialEngineAddOns plugins on your site to their latest versions.
